WLAN mit Solaris

Ja auch Solaris ist Wireless LAN fähig. Ich habe hier auf meinem Notebook Opensolaris installiert und ich muss sagen, mit einer PCMCIA-Karte mit Atheros Chipsatz ist die Nutzung von WLAN unter Solaris recht komfortabel geworden. Die Opensolaris Laptop Community stellt eine erste Anlaufstelle dar.

Scannen nach Netzwerken

Erzeugen des Profile

root@bfg9000 # wificonfig createprofile MYPROFILE essid=WWxxxxxxxx encryption=WEP wepkey1=1234567890...

Mit dem WLAN verbinden

root@bfg9000 # wificonfig -i ath0 connect MYPROFILE
wificonfig: connecting to profile 'MYPROFILE'

Status überprüfen

root@bfg9000 # wificonfig -i ath0 showstatus
        linkstatus: connected
        active profile: [MYPROFILE]
        essid: WWxxxxxxxx
        bssid: xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
        encryption: wep
        signal strength: weak(2)

Mit ifconfig das Interface konfigurieren

root@bfg9000 # ifconfig ath0 dhcp primary start
